This experiential online module will teach you about the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), Agni, Samkhya philosophy, and how these principles can be applied to asana, pranayama, and nutrition. You’ll also learn about the ancient terminology of ayurvedic and yogic anatomy and physiology, and how this terminology relates to body, mind, and soul.
Each day’s practical work will support your integration of Ayurvedic principles into your yoga practice and work with clients, laying the foundation for a truly Ayurvedic understanding of therapy and framework for application.

Learning objectives
- Describe the three doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha), Samkhya philosophy, and their relevance to Yoga Therapy.
- Understand the concept of agni, its connection to our lifestyle, digestion, and mental conditions.
- Apply the principles of self-care such as Nasya, Abhyanga, and Neti pot, as well as Ayurvedic nutrition andcooking principles for optimal health.
- Understand the practical applications of vata, pitta, kapha, and agni to Asana and Pranayama within Yoga Therapy.
- Describe the ancient terminology of Ayurvedic and Yogic anatomy and physiology and its relation to the body, mind, and soul, including the six tastes (rasas).
- Understand Ayurveda on a physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual level, and its role in disease prevention and management within Yoga Therapy scope of practice.
- Apply Ayurvedic principles to practical aspects of cooking, and how to cook basic Ayurvedic recipes related to the Doshas.

To join this module, you must meet the following requirements:
- 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from Yoga Alliance or equivalent
- One year of Yoga teaching experience
- One year of personal Yoga practice
- Fluent in English
- Minimum 18 years old

Does this module offer continuing education credits?
No, this module does not offer continuing education credits because the module forms an integral part of our Yoga Therapy Diploma.
However, you can still earn continuing education credits by completing our other courses that are approved by Yoga Alliance.

The price of the module includes access to all live module lectures, unlimited access to the educational platform, including written materials, presentations, and assignments. You’ll also have the ability to contact the team and faculty by email for support.
