Marleen is an experienced instructor and mentor at The Yoga Therapy Institute, known for her gentle, attentive approach and exceptional Yoga Nidra sessions, fondly dubbed “The Marleen Effect” for their profound relaxation benefits.

Well-known for her gentle, respectful approach and attention to detail, her Yoga Nidra offerings are legendary, inducing sublime relaxation and are fondly referred to by our staff and students as “The Marleen Effect”.
Marleen began her yoga journey in 2005 with an advanced yoga teacher training at the Yoga Academy Amsterdam, followed by Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Ashram “The Range” New York, in 2008.
She undertook additional studies at the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies, qualifying with a Higher Professional Level Course in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology in 2011.
Graduating as a Yoga Therapist in 2017 at Yoga Campus London, Marleen Jansen joined The Yoga Therapy Institute from its inception. She feels fortunate to do what she loves: sharing and exploring health and well-being from a holistic perspective, with students from all around the globe.
Marleen also enjoys working as a one-on-one Yoga Therapist with a wide range of clients. She recognises that every person is unique, requiring a tailored approach towards self-healing and well-being.
Since 2024, Marleen has also been working as a yoga therapist with clients recovering from addiction at a specialised multidisciplinary medical centre in the Netherlands.
In her free-time, Marleen loves to rock: either in a rocking-chair or in a hammock, as long as it rocks! She loves art, listening to music and reading novels from Isabel Allende. Her favourite quote is from her favourite singer Leonard Cohen: “There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in”.
