Sacha Schenker C-IAYT

Sacha Schenker

Sacha Schenker was born in Amsterdam and moved to Canada 18 years ago with her husband and 2 sons.

Sacha’s Yoga journey began 17 years ago and has continued to inspire and improve her life ever since. After completing her Yoga teacher training, she began teaching group classes as well as private Yoga classes and workshops for beginners.

Working independently with students, showed Sacha how important it is to tailor guidance and movements for each individual.

Sacha Schenker’s story

Growing up and due to her own health challenges, Sacha learned about holistic healing and how wholesome health is a balance between body, mind & spirit.

These experiences lead her to seek training and studies in Yoga Therapy & Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Sacha started her Yoga Therapy training at The Yoga Therapy Institute in 2020 and is now a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist. Sacha also joined The Yoga Therapy Institute’s team as a mentor to support students with their case studies.
With The Center for Trauma & Embodiment at JRI, Sacha completed the 300-Hour Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Certification Program.

She is currently facilitating TCTSY sessions to veteran groups through the Operational Stress Recovery Program which is a 20-Day Residential PTSD Educational & Treatment Program for Military Veterans and RCMP.

Sacha enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and doing Yoga! As she continues her journey, Sacha’s mission is to encourage everyone – no matter their age, size, or accessibility – to embrace yoga and yoga therapy, and to meet them wherever they are on their healing journey.
