The Yoga Therapy for Musculoskeletal Issues & Lower Back Pain 100-Hours is a practical Yoga Therapy module focused on the bio-mechanics of the body and learning how fascia, muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments work together to produce movement. This module also focuses specifically on lower back pain and how to work safely with clients suffering from a wide range of lower back issues.
In this extensive module you can expect to learn the Yoga Therapy applications for the following musculoskeletal health problems:
- Sacro-Iliac syndrome
- Piriformis syndrome
- Knee injuries
- Scoliosis
- Shoulder injuries
- Tennis elbow
- Carpal-Tunnel syndrome
- Hypermobile joint syndrome
- Groin injuries and abdominal hernias
- Neck pain & whiplash
- Diseases that affect the function of the muscles
- The link between musculoskeletal and emotional health
- Herniated discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Osteosrarthritis
The Module
This module will give you the in-depth knowledge which every Yoga teacher and Yoga Therapy trainee should have: the relationship and vital inter-connections between the different parts of the body, their functioning and possible mechanical and organic issues that might arise, including the manifestation of physical symptoms related to emotional issues.
We will take you through the Yoga Therapy approaches to physical injuries and how to work with students who suffer from musculoskeletal issues.
You will also have the opportunity to apply what you learn to real case studies with clients, including challenging cases.

- Common pathologies of the musculoskeletal system – Part I
- Yoga Therapy practical work, adapted movements, modified asanas, breathing techniques and new restorative ways to support the healing of injuries – Part I
- Case study group practices
Week 2
- Musculoskeletal practical anatomy & physiology – Part II
- Common pathologies of the musculoskeletal system – Part II
- Yoga Therapy practical work, adapted movements, modified asanas, breathing techniques and new restorative ways to support the healing of injuries – Part II
- Lower back pain clinic
- Yoga Therapy practical applications for spinal disc herniation
- Yoga Therapy assessments and treatments for lower back pain
- Case study group practices
