Yoga Therapy Foundation Course 100-Hours | ONLINE
The Yoga Therapy Foundation Course 100-Hours is a unique and intensive course, which teaches you the fundamentals of Yoga Therapy as an independent module or as the basis from which you can build up your Yoga Therapy Diploma hours.
What to expect
- Two separate weeks, from Monday to Saturday each * see 2023 dates below
- All classes are led by our faculty team of C-IAYT Yoga Therapists with many years of experience working as yoga therapists based on knowledge and practice.
- Classes take place from 9:30am to 5:00pm (CET) with the opportunity to combine “live learning” with “on-demand”.
- The online classes include live dynamic presentations, student client-intake practices and interactive student-practices in the break-out rooms, discussions and question time
- A personal teaching approach with direct communication and a nourishing educational relationship between teachers and students.
- The opportunity to develop professional relationships within a large and diverse international community of yoga, physical and mental-health professionals.

What you will learn in this yoga therapy FOUNDATION course
- The fundamentals of Yoga Therapy from a post-lineage approach and understanding of the modern Yoga Therapy biomedical scientific models
- The development and practical application of a Yoga Therapy clinical client intake based on the Bio-Psycho-Social_Spiritual model (BPSS)
- The evolutions of yoga & yoga therapy presented through ancient texts, including The Rig Vedas, Upanishads, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita & Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
- Introduction of concepts from Samkhya Philosophy and the Yoga System, presented during dynamic, practical classes in which the student is encouraged to develop their critical thinking and learn how to apply these concepts in the practice of modern Yoga Therapy.
- Introduction to therapeutic and trauma-informed language, and yoga therapy client-delivery skills.
- Body-Mind observational skills -non-verbal signals-.
- The development and practice of a safe, clinical physical assessment and observation
- The development and practice of a safe client breathing-patterns assessment.
- The Yogic model interpretations within the field of Yoga Therapy.
- How to identify health warnings, establish possible contraindications and how to recognise the need for medical referral.
- Joining the dots: how to prepare an individual-adapted Yoga Therapy Program for your client.
- Making client lifestyle recommendations, setting up realistic homework and ensuring a follow-up system
- Formulation of conclusions and preparation of client reports
- Practical guidelines based on real case studies and client-work experience
- Tools of support to address challenging situations
- Professional and ethical principles, including responsibilities, scope of practice and code of conduct

WHO IS THIS YOGA THERAPY COURSE FOR?
To joint our programme, applicants must possess a Yoga Alliance approved 200-hours Yoga teacher or equivalent qualification.
This course is also of valuable interest to medical professionals, physiotherapists, coaches and other therapeutic professionals who are seeking a multidisciplinary approach.
